Tom Ruszkowski

GIS Analyst

Tom has a background in wildlife biology and worked for several federal agencies as a wildlife biologist after receiving his MS from the University of Wyoming in 1996. His work mainly focused on avian and small mammal ecology. Tom entered the field of GIS in 2000 while working for a GIS firm in Fort Collins Colorado.

He applies his experience analyzing natural resource data through predictive modeling and managing environmental, and utility databases for the military. He is currently collaborating on a predictive modeling project of floral speciation across the arctic throughout the Quaternary, with applications in understanding future impacts of climate change.

Tom has worked extensively with ESRI software packages, Leica Imaging Software, and GPS data collection equipment. He has extensive experience collecting and analyzing biological data.

Tom's personal interests include mushing with his 9 dogs, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, and arctic exploration.
